Take a look below at our Mathletics Magicians this week (week ending 13.5.22…their performance is simply MAGICAL!).

The following children have played and scored the most points on Mathletics!

Year 4 Johanna

Year 5 Hayley

Year 6 Benjamin

And the year group who played the most, and so earned the most certificates?

Year 4!

Congratulations everybody! Keep playing magically!

Look at these athletes go! What a lovely afternoon in the sunshine – the children showed determination and great sporting behaviour – clapping and cheering each other. My personal favourite was the welly wanging! Well done everyone!

Children from Year 4, 5, and 6 played with skilled, confidence and determination in their first basketball rally in nearly three years this week! The rally was held at South Wilford Primary. The team had the chance to play the host team and a team from St Anne’s. We were not successful on this occasion but have learnt news skills and are hungry for our next opportunity!

Well done Team!

The role-play vets had a busy afternoon looking after Stanley the dog – he was thoroughly checked over and, thankfully, given a clean bill of health. There were also lots of cuddles and time to draw pictures of him and try to label them. Well done everyone.

In Science, we have been learning about the life cycles of different animals. Living things have different life cycles dependent on how they are classified. For example, birds have different life cycles to amphibians.

We explored the life cycle of a chicken then we compared this with the life cycle of a frog.

What are the similarities and differences between the two life cycles?

We were also very lucky because we had chance to explore what chicks are like and hold one!

Thank you for all the donations to our Lenten fundraiser – this year supporting people suffering in Ukraine. The children looked wonderful in their yellow and blue outfits and enjoyed eating yellow and blue biscuits. We hope the sunflower seeds soon start to root and grow – please send us photographs as they begin to grow and flourish.

The children had a fantastic day at Manor Farm. They enjoyed meeting the different furry and scaly animals, observing and drawing owls, walking through the paddocks – creating maps, exploring the indoor play barn and going on a Dinosaur Walk! A great day in the sunshine, had by all!
