On the 11th November, our Celebration of the Word was in honour of Remembrance Day. We used it as an opportunity to explore the importance of Poppies. The children used watercolours to recreate their version of this beautiful flower. Some wonderful results…
This week, the children strengthened their muscles by working with clay and then using natural materials to create creatures that might live in the wood. Of course, there was also time to climb and explore with friends.
We are so pleased to report that all the teddy bears (and snakes, dogs, cats etc) were feeling much better after their visit to the doctors from the Teddy Bears’ Hospital.
The children showed excellent communication skills (and confidence) talking to the unfamiliar adults and joining in with activities to help them learn about hospital visits, exercise, dental hygiene, emotions and mental health.
This was a wonderful joint celebration with children from KS1 and EYFS leading their friends through prayer, song, dance, time to think and talk, meeting together with Jesus, getting to know his friendship even more.
In Art we have used inspiration from Marc Chagall and our learning about World War 2 to create our own skylines of the Blitz. We used vibrant watercolours in the background then made the silhouette using oil pastels.
The children in FS have had a fun morning playing in the snow; building snowmen, throwing snowballs, investigating foot and hand prints and ‘having the best time ever!’
We are very proud of all the children who took part in our wonderful show today. They showcased drumfit, poetry, songs, dough disco and were amazing with their confidence, loud voices and musical talent. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets to help us raise money for new musical instruments.

What a Beautiful Name
Year 3 spent some time exploring playscripts and their layout in order to identify key features. What better way to do that then to actually perform one?
Working in groups, they organised themselves into different roles and then used the stage directions to ensure actions and dialogue were accurate.
They were then able to use these features in their own plays, a ‘Revolting Rhymes’ style version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Some fantastic playscripts were produced because they worked so well together. Great work Year 3!
