Year 1 have been learning how to write letters after reading the story The Day The Crayons Quit. We thought that we would put our new skills to good use by writing letters to King Charles, wishing him well on his coronation day.
The Year 1 children took lots of persuading before they believed that their letters would actually be sent to King Charles! Once they were convinced, they insisted that they should use very sharp pencils, neat handwriting, careful sounding out and capital letters and full stops. They really wanted to impress the King.
I can confirm that the letters were taken to the Post Office on Friday and are now heading to Buckingham Palace. We are hoping that a reply will be delivered to BRW later this term. Watch this space…
