BRW has been selected to receive 30 sapling trees from the Woodland Trust and yesterday they were delivered! Mrs Kidger and the Year 5 team had a busy afternoon, ensuring all 30 were planted in our Forest School area. The children had to make sure they were planted with a cane to keep them upright in windy weather and sealed with a plastic case to protect them from wildlife. We will continue to water and look after our new trees, hopefully bringing the area some much needed wildlife!

What is Fairtrade Fortnight?

For two weeks each year, at the end of February and start of March, thousands of schools, colleges and universities across the UK come together to learn from the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and who grow the cotton in our clothes – people who are often exploited and underpaid.

Through learning about how we are all connected through the things we eat, drink and wear, young people are equipped with the knowledge and skills to shape a more compassionate and sustainable world.

This year’s theme is ‘Choose the World You Want’, meaning that we must make the right choices that have positive outcomes for people around the world. If you’d like to find out more information about Fairtrade Fortnight, below is a document full of activities you can do at home!

Competition Time!

The ECO Warriors have decided to launch two Fairtrade competitions. There will be prizes awarded, so be in it to win it! See below for details.

Fairtrade Fortnight Assembly 2022

The BRW ECO Warriors did a fantastic job of informing the school about what Fairtrade was and how they can help support farmers to get a fair price for their goods.
